With the countdown to Christmas now measured in hours instead of days, it’s time to remember that this is the season of giving.
Earlier this month, Mickie James took part in a Toy Drive as part of the Childhelp Merv Griffin Party. In exchange for donated gifts for children, shoppers at the Walmart in Beaumont, CA received an autographed holiday photo of the six-time Women’s Champion. James also signed other items for those who came in and took photos. As one might expect, a large number of the donations were WWE action figures and other toys
“I was overwhelmed by the response we got for the Toy Drive,” James said after the event. “The out-pouring of support was incredible. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support!”
Also part of the event were John Stamos, Jen Lilley and Laura Marano.
The Merv Griffin Village is just one of the locations as part of the Childhelp network. The non-profit organization is dedicated to helping the victims of child abuse and their families.
“Working with Childhelp has been fantastic,” James said. “Being able to give children a special gift and see the smiles on their faces… there’s nothing more rewarding.”
While James was helping Merv Griffin Village, her husband and current NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis was appearing in Virginia, benefiting the Alice C. Tyler Village.
“I’m so proud of what Nick accomplished in Virginia.” James said. “He has been so supportive of Childhelp and by putting in efforts in different locations, we were able to make that much greater of an impact.”
